One of my favorite dishes to bring during the Holidays is this Green Bean Casserole. This recipe has nothing to do with cream of mushroom soup or French’s French Fried Onions. The original recipe I discovered a few years ago in Martha Stewart Living Magazine.

Some things turn out as planned, and some, turn out even better. Last month when I casually tweeted a friend who works for Coyne Public Relations (the PR company who does pro bono work for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey) to tell her that I’d like to organize a blogging campaign to spread awareness about the FoodBank and their need for donations, I had no idea that in just a few short weeks, we’d have over 100 bloggers ready and willing to make this campaign a reality. »» We Can’t Let This Bank Fail

Okay, not one of my best pictures. Its hard to make lentils pretty, but, I have to say, this was pretty tasty and healthy, not to mention, cheap. Gotta love cheap these days. I know I have dissed the whole casserole concept in the past and rightly so. I promise we will not be calling on cream of mushroom soup or crumbled cornflakes, not even a whisper.
